Rourkela: Rourkela Superintendent of Police (SP) Mitrabhanu Mahapatra has ordered a probe into the death of Assistant Collector Sushmita Minz by a police officer of DSP rank.
DSP of the district Investigating Unit on Crime Against Women (IUCAW) will conduct the probe, informed Mahapatra reporters here today.
Sushmita’s body was spotted floating in a pond of a park within Plant Site Police Station Limits on September 19 by the security guard of the park.
Later Fire Services personnel fished out the body from the pond. Her sandals and other belongings kept inside a plastic bag, were found on the footsteps of the water body. Police said that the autopsy report confirmed ante-mortem drowning.
Sushmita had gone missing on September 15, following which her brother had reported the matter to police.
