Rourkela: The FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar – Rourkela Trophy Tour in Rourkela was a vibrant and exciting event that featured a variety of cultural performances and activities.
The tour began with an Alati at Vedvyas Temple, followed by tribal dance at Vedvyas Chowk. The trophy received warm welcome from people of various sections including the Bengali community at Dandiapalli.
The celebration continued with a mesmerizing performance of Odissi and Hip-hop at Brahmani Bridge and a lively Dandia Dance at ABM Hospital Chowk.
The Punjabi community also had a chance to showcase their culture with a thrilling Gatka performance at Gurudwara.
A Kalas Yatra was also held from Gurudwara to Hanuman Vatika. The Punjabi Bhangada was another highlight at Gurudwara.
The tour also included several stage activities and welcomes to the trophy at various locations. Daily market area was abuzz with excitement as the Trophy Tour drew huge crowd. Overall, it was a fantastic showcase of the diverse cultural heritage of Rourkela, and a fitting tribute to the sport of hockey.
The trophy is to parade through various landmarks and locations in Rourkela before arriving at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium at 11 pm.
