Rourkela: Hundreds of artisans and workers are working tirelessly for the last 20-30 days in Rourkela as the Steel City of Odisha is going to celebrate Durga Puja in a grand manner after a gap of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A pandal based on the Amer Fort of Rajasthan is to be the major attraction during the Durga Puja this year at Sector 20. Pandal based on the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir of Toronto is to attract the revellers at Sector 2 while pandal at Sector 1 is based on Rashtrapati Bhavan.
A puja organizer Ranjan Barik said that the artisans have been given a target to complete the work and hand over the pandal before Sunday (October 2). A large crowd of people is expected this year as they had not watched the puja for the last two years due to the pandemic.
Starting from devotees to traders all are excited to organize the Puja in a smooth manner, said a city denizen Niranjan Samal. The festival will be celebrated in a grand manner in the coming year if there is a large crowd this year, said another denizen Mohammad Zahid Hasan.
