Bhubaneswar: The legal assistant of Rourkela Development Authority (RDA) was dismissed from services after being convicted by a special vigilance court in Sundergarh in a corruption case.
Odisha Vigilance had communicated his conviction to the competent authority to take appropriate action against Manoj Kumar Dash following which he was dismissed as per the provision of OCS (CCA) Rules, 1962.
Dash was sentenced to two years of rigorous imprisonment in the bribery case. He was also asked to pay fine of Rs 5,000. In default of payment of the fine, he would undergo further three months of rigorous imprisonment for the offence U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) of PC Act, 1988/109 IPC.
