Bhubaneswar: Odisha Transport Principal Secretary Usha Padhee on Sunday visited the site of the aircraft accident in the Jalda area of Rourkela, Sundargarh district, to review the situation and oversee rescue and relief operations. Two of the six injured passengers were airlifted to Mumbai for advanced medical treatment.
The six injured include passengers Anita Sahoo (50), Sabita Agarwal (35), Sunil Agarwal (40), Susanta Kumar Biswal (46), pilot Naveen Kadanga (46), and co-pilot Tarun Shrivastava (46).
At the request of the family, Sabita Agarwal and Sunil Agarwal were flown to Mumbai. All victims are reported to be stable and out of danger.
Padhee coordinated with the district administration, police authorities, and officials from relevant departments to assess rescue efforts, medical response, and safety measures initiated immediately after the incident.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is personally monitoring developments and has issued directions to ensure prompt medical assistance, logistical support, and coordinated administrative action for all affected individuals.
“All necessary arrangements have been made on priority,” Padhee said. A two-member medical team has been deployed to continuously monitor the injured, while emergency medical facilities have been activated at the district level.
Teams from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) have been facilitated for inspection and investigation at the site. Padhee continues to coordinate with all concerned agencies to ensure effective management of the situation and strict adherence to safety protocols.
