Bhubaneswar: The Rourkela Police District on Wednesday inaugurated a series of solar-powered elevated traffic posts at key junctions across Rourkela city, aimed at strengthening traffic management and enhancing the safety of traffic personnel.

These newly developed posts mark a significant step toward modernising urban traffic control. Each is designed with an elevated platform to improve visibility and is equipped with solar-powered electrical systems, ensuring uninterrupted operation—especially during nighttime and power outages—while also promoting environmental sustainability.

A total of ten solar-enabled traffic posts have been installed at strategic locations:

  1. Ambedkar Chowk
  2. Traffic Gate
  3. S. Post
  4. Mangal Bhawan
  5. M.C. Chowk
  6. DAV Chowk
  7. Hi-Tech Chowk
  8. Balughat Chowk
  9. TCI Chowk
  10. Saw Mill Chowk

The Rourkela Police reaffirm their commitment to adopting technology-driven, eco-friendly solutions for efficient traffic management and improved public safety.
