Bhubaneswar: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel on the intervening night of 5th & 6th August rescued a minor girl from Coromandel Express while conducting night checking in the train at Cuttack.

According to an official press release, the minor girl was allegedly kidnapped by two men from Bengaluru. These two men identified as Sameer Ali and Sandeep Kant have been arrested.

The RPF team led by Sub Inspector Rosy Mahananda during night checking in 12841 Coromandel Express at Cuttack noticed one minor girl aged between 15-16 years sitting isolated. When the RPF team started to interrogate her Sameer Ali and Sandeep Kant came and gave their reference as her brother and friend. As their conversation mismatched, the RPF team on the grounds of suspicion brought them to the RPF Post at Cuttack for inquiry.

During the inquiry, it was found that the minor girl belonged to a village of Jagatsinghpur district and she had come in contact with Sameer and Sandeep through social media.

As per their plan both the boys came from Bengaluru and the minor girl fled from her home on Monday morning. Her family was searching for her and had registered an FIR with the local police.

On being informed, the family members of the rescued girl with the local police came to the RPF Post at Cuttack.

The minor girl was handed over to her family and the accused persons Sameer and Sandeep who were detained by the RPF were handed over to the police for further action.
