Cuttack: A team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel of Cuttack while on night patrolling duty rescued a woman passenger who had fallen down from Puri-Talcher train between Machhapur-Raja Athagarh section on Wednesday night.
According to reports, the RPF team on receiving information rushed to the spot and found a woman, aged about 48 years who was profusely bleeding with her leg injured lying by the side of the railway line. The woman’s husband was trying to shift her from the spot to take her to the hospital when the RPF team arrived.
The RPF team with the help of a police vehicle shifted her to a hospital late at night.
The woman passenger was travelling to Talcher from Cuttack along with her husband and other family members on the train when the mishap took place.
The woman had fallen down from the train after losing her balance while going to the toilet. She was discharged from the hospital today evening.
Her family members were of high appreciation for the timely and noble act of the RPF team.
