Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to higher education in the state, the Odisha Higher Education Department has sanctioned Rs 1.73 crore for the development of 11 colleges and Ravenshaw University under the ‘Ama Gaurav Ama College’ scheme. The funding aims to modernise infrastructure, enhance academic facilities, and provide better learning opportunities for students.
The institutions set to benefit include Ravenshaw University, Agalpur Panchayat Samiti (Degree) College, Bijepur (Degree) College, Salipur (Autonomous) College, Biren Mitra Memorial Women’s (Degree) College, Panchayat Degree College, Kalla, Hindol (Degree) College, Mahima Degree College, Bellaguntha Science Degree College, Naktideul Degree College, Government Autonomous College, Phulbani, and Jasoda Bishnu College.
The funding will be utilized for infrastructure and academic development projects such as modernizing libraries, constructing laboratories, building sports and academic complexes, installing Wi-Fi connectivity, and CCTV surveillance.
The project forms part of the state government’s broader efforts to modernise higher education institutions and ensure equitable access to quality education across Odisha. With upgraded facilities and improved academic resources, students can expect a more conducive environment for learning, research, and overall development.
