Bhubaneswar: In a daring broad daylight robbery, two unidentified miscreants allegedly snatched a bag containing Rs 4 lakh from a businessman near Ramji Square in the Patnagarh area of Bolangir district on Monday.
The victim has been identified as Munna Pansari, a local trader.
According to sources, Pansari had just returned home on his motorcycle after withdrawing the cash from a nearby bank. While he was retrieving the money from the side storage box of his vehicle, two bike-borne miscreants, riding a TVS Apache, reportedly approached him and snatched the bag.
The accused fled the scene before the victim or local residents could react.
Pansari later lodged a formal complaint at the local police station. Acting on the report, a police team reached the spot and initiated a probe.
Efforts are underway to identify the culprits through CCTV footage collected from the vicinity.
