Rs 48 Cr Fine Collected From Covid-19 Violators In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Minister of State (MoS) for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra today informed the Assembly that Rs 48,49,48,370 fine has been collected from the Covid-19 violators from across the State.

Responding to a question posed by BJP MLA Mohan Charan Majhi, the Home MoS informed the House that the fine amount has been collected from the Covid-19 violators between 01.03.2020 and 11.02.2021 while 24,685 cases have been registered during the period and 20,693 violators arrested.

As per the data provided by the Minister to the Assembly, 171 cases have been registered for Covid-19 violations with the arrest of 174 violators and Rs 23,50,1940 fine collected from Bhubaneswar Urban Police Department (UPD) limits while from Cuttack Urban Police Department (UPD) limits, 288 cases registered with arrest of 253 persons and Rs 16,94,79,055 fine collected for Covid-19 violations.

The Minister also informed the House that the data received from all the SPs during the Corona pandemic period from 01.03.2020 to 31.12.2020 states that 113410 cases of crime have been registered and 51,617 persons arrested.

He further informed that a total number of 16,370 cases have been registered and 5918 persons arrested since January till February 11 this year.

The House was also apprised that 10,810 drunk persons were arrested during the lockdown period last year.
