**Bhubaneswar: ** On the occasion of state-level Voluntary Blood Donation Day, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced Rs 500 travel expense to each thalassemia/hemophilia/sicklecell anaemic patient to collect blood from hospital and transfusion.
On the sidelines of the special function ‘Donate Blood Stay Healthy Save Lives’, the Chief Minister told media, “Blood donation is a noble work and everyone should come forward to donate blood and save lives.”
“The State Government has decided to provide an assistance of Rs 500 per month to patients with blood disorders towards their transportation cost for blood transfusion,” the Odisha CM announced.
Notably, the State Government has made free blood provision for patients suffering from thalassameia, haemophilia, sicklecell anaemia, JSSK, HIV and accident.
