Bhubaneswar: Lone accused in former Health Minister Naba Das murder case, now sacked ASI of Gandhi Chhak police outpost Gopal Krishna Das had never applied for leave citing medical treatment of his psychiatric disorder nor had he represented for his transfer.
“The accused ASI Gopal Krishna Das had never applied for leave citing medical treatment of his psychiatric disorder and he had never submitted any representation for his transfer,” stated Minister of State (MoS) Home Tusharkanti Behera in a written reply to a query from Congress lawmaker Narasingha Mishra in the Odisha Assembly today.
MoS Behera, however, stated that Das remained unauthorisedly absent from duty for the period from 03.02.2014 to 03.04.2014.
Das submitted his fitness certificate along with medical treatment papers of MKCG Medical College, Berhampur pertaining to his treatment for psychiatric disorder (Bipolar Affective Disorder), he added.
Behera said that Das again remained unauthorisedly absent from duty for the period from 01.03.2015 to 27.06.2015.

He said Das had applied for 20 days EL from 11.02.2017 to 3.03.2017 for the heart operation of his elder brother.
