Cuttack: In a stern measure to enforce accountability, the Cuttack District Collector has ordered to withhold November 2025 salaries of 91 government officials found defaulting in resolving public grievances registered on the state’s Janasumani Portal.
The directive follows sharp criticism from the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell (CMGC), which expressed utter displeasure over Cuttack’s consistently poor performance in disposing of grievances received during the Monday CM Grievance Cell hearings.
The affected officials include the Sub-Collectors of Athgarh and Banki, Block Development Officers, Tahsildars, and officials from the police, public works, rural development, water resources, and RWSS departments.
“Even after repeated persuasion and review meetings, the progress of disposal is not encouraging. The District’s Ranking/Position in disposal percentage is worsening in whole of the State. CMGC has expressed utter displeasure over poor disposal of grievances received in the Monday CM Grievance Cell”, read the letter issued to the Cuttack District Treasury Officer.
