**Cuttack:** The six-year-old school girl, who was raped and strangulated in Salepur of this district on Sunday (April 22) is still critical and battling with life in the SCB Medical College and Hospital here in the city.
SCB Medical College and Hospital Superintendent Prof Shyama Kanungo informed media, “The girl is still in a critical condition as she was the previous day, only a slight improvement has been seen. She was in a state of shock”.
“The girl is on ventilator and a team of doctors from different departments, including Paediatrics, Forensics, Anaesthesiology, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Radiology, Orthopaedic, Neurosurgery and Neurology are attending her thoroughly”, she further added.
Earlier, the six-year-old was rescued in an unconscious state from the veranda of a school at Salepur in the district here on Saturday evening. Her parents alleged that some miscreants raped the girl and an attempt was also made to kill her as blood was oozing out from her mouth.
The minor girl was then rushed to Salepur Community Health Centre (CHC) and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital after her condition deteriorated.
