Jharsuguda: Jharsuguda police on Sunday detained another person from Burla in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a Class X student Samarth Agrawal on March 27. However, the police have revealed the identity of the detained person or the reason behind his detention.
According to sources, the detained person is being interrogated in connection with the case. Earlier, the police arrested two accused, Amit Kumar Sharma of Jharsuguda and Dinesh Kumar Agarwal of Brajrajnagar. Both the accused were taken to Burla and Bheden on Saturday night.
On March 28, Jharsuguda police recovered the body of 15-year-old Samarth Agarwal, son of a local businessman from Sarbahal in Bargarh. Samarth was abducted on March 27 while he was on his way for cricket practice on a scooter.
Meanwhile, locals of Jharsuguda took out a huge rally from Manmohan School to Jharsuguda police station demanding justice and the death penalty for the accused.
Several youth and women’s organisations, students, and residents of the town took part in the rally. They met the IIC at the Jharsuguda police station and submitted a memorandum.
