Bhubaneswar: Sambalpur and Jharsuguda recorded scorching temperatures of 38°C, while Hirakud registered a temperature of 37.6°C as of 11:30 AM today, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD has reported the temperature records for various cities in Odisha at 11:30 AM today.
According to the regional weather office, as of 11:30 AM today, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda were sizzling at 38°C, while Hirakud had recorded a temperature of 37.6°C. Chandbali had a temperature of 36.4°C, followed by Rourkela at 35.6°C. Balasore had recorded a temperature of 35°C.
In the state capital, Bhubaneswar, the temperature stood at 35.4°C, accompanied by a humidity level of 68.4% as of 11:30 AM today.
Going by the IMD bulletin, the hot and humid weather is expected to subside from Tuesday, with a possibility of increased rainfall activity. A cyclonic circulation/low-pressure area is likely to form over the north and adjoining central Bay of Bengal after June 13, which may impact the state’s weather.
