Sambalpur: A second-year PG Economics student of Sambalpur University was reportedly found dead at Brahmaputra hostel late Tuesday night.
The deceased student, Suraj Kujur, is from Kutra area in Sundargarh district.
According to reports, Kujur’s body was found hanging from the ceiling of his room number 52 by hostel authorities. Upon being informed by the university administration, Burla police swiftly arrived at the scene to recover the body and initiate an inquiry.
While police suspect that Kujur might have committed suicide, police have launched a thorough inquiry, examining all aspects of the case, including the student’s mental health and any potential motives.
Confirming the incident, University Registrar Pradeep Naik said police were informed promptly, and the student’s family has been notified.
