**Bhubaneswar:** Our Netas go a long way in appeasing voters, especially when the elections knock the door. Some spend a night at shabby dwellings while others share a measly meal with the inhabitants.
BJP candidate from Puri parliamentary seat, Sambit Patra on Sunday shared a video on his Twitter handle which showed him having lunch prepared by an old woman in her hamlet in Puri district.
While it is clear from the video that Patra and his supporters are relishing the sumptuous meal, the circumstances in the household placed him in a spot of bother. Let’s see why.
Patra’s elderly host is seen preparing some lip-smacking, ready-to-serve ‘Pithas’ (pancakes), the Odia delicacy, on an earthen oven or the ‘Chullah’.
Patra, one of the most visible spokespersons of the saffron party is equally active on the social media. He was quick to post the video on Twitter:

Little did an unsuspecting Patra know that the Twitter post was enough to trigger the troll brigade.
‘Where is the Cooking Gas’ ; ‘What happened to Ujjwala’ ; ‘The video depicts the shoddy status of Ujjwala scheme in Odisha’ ; ‘At least you should have got her a gas cylinder under Ujjwala scheme’ ; ‘Can’t spot a gas cylinder here at least’….
The responses and sarcasms went on. To say the least, one of the proven strategies to appease, backfired for Patra.
