Berhampur: Unlike many others who soak in devotion during Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra festival, sand sculptor Satya Narayan Maharana has utilised this opportunity to showcase his talent. He has made the smallest chariot of Lord Jagannath (Nandighosha) from old newspapers.
Maharana’s chariot measures 7 inches in height, and 4.5 inches in width, and weighs just 45 grams. The beautiful artwork is adorned with 16 wheels, 4 horses, 2 Olot Shua, Dadhinuti, and Patit Pawan Bana, and is an exact replica of Puri’s Nandighosha chariot.
Maharana claims that it took him just a day to create this beautiful replica of Nandighosha.
Earlier, Maharana created the world’s smallest chariot measuring just 1 cm in height and the artwork has found its place in the India Book of Records.
He is a master craftsman who holds many records, including the Asia Book of Record, National Book of Record, Global Book of Record, World Record Sector, and India World Records for this unique piece of art.
