Bhubaneswar: Sarapanch of Brundabahal Gram Panchayat under Golamunda Block in Kalahandi has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance in a corruption case.
Sarpanch Dinesh Kumar Rout will be forwarded to court today, vigilance.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance registered a case U/s 13(2) r/w13 (1)(b) P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018.
On Friday, Rout was intercepted by a team of anti-graft officials, while he was carrying Rs 5.4 lakhs suspected ill-gotten cash. Vigilance seized the cash amount and a vehicle from his possession.
Following the interception, vigilance sleuths carried out searches at his houses.
