**Cuttack: ** A day after the chlorine gas leakage from the tank of PHD Pump House situated in the campus of SCB Medical College and Hospital in which over 33 persons were taken ill and hospitalised, Cuttack district administration on Thursday constituted a 6-member team to probe into the mishap.
As per reports, the 6-member team comprises ADM (Revenue) Raghuram Iyer, District Fire Officer, Additional Director of Factories & Boilers, SCB Superintendent and PHD officials.
Notably, the untoward incident took place in the premises of Odisha’s premier SCB Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday afternoon hours in which over 33 persons, including three fire brigade officials fell ill and were hospitalised in SCB.
Such an incident took place following chlorine gas leakage from one of the PHD Pump House tanks installed in the campus. The fire brigade was alerted to tackle the situation, but unfortunately two of its officials first got affected.
Not only the fire fighter officials, but also other persons, including medicos, attendants of patients and private secuirty personnel in the sprawling hospital premises were also taken ill.
All the affected were immediately admitted to the Casualty. Later, four of them were reportedly shifted to the ICU.
Panic triggered among the patients and all present in campus following the chlorine gas leak from one of the tanks of the PHD Pump House inside the hospital campus and the fire fighters were pressed panic button by the authorities. The fire brigade officials rushed to the spot to stop the leakage. They had to shift the leaking tanks to the far away Mahanadi open space.
