SCB Sexual Assault Case: Accused Cardiology Doctor Arrested

Bhubaneswar: Police arrested a senior resident doctor of the Cardiology Department at SCB Medical College and Hospital in connection with the sexual assault case.

The accused doctor has been identified as Dilbag Singh who has been working in the cardiology department for the last two years.

Mangalabag police arrested the accused doctor after the relatives of the victim patients lodged a complaint against him.

Meanwhile, the Health Department constituted a three-member committee to investigate the sexual assault allegation against the doctor.

The committee comprising of Prof. (Dr.) Santosh Kumar Mishra, DMET, Odisha, Prof. (Dr.) Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra, Superintendent, SCBMCH, Cuttack and Dean & Principal, SCB Medical College, Cuttack, Prof. (Dr.) Roma Rattan, Joint DMET, Odisha will investigate the matter, a notification issued by the Health Department stated.

The committee will investigate into the allegations and recommend appropriate action to the government, the notification said.

Notably, the accused doctor allegedly assaulted two women patients sexually in the ECG room on the pretext of conducting examination.
