School Boy From Bhubaneswar Gets ‘World Cup Ball’ from PM Modi

**New Delhi:** The people of Odisha were filled with pride when PM Modi felicitated Babul Sandil of Bhubanewar at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here before the beginning of India’s historic match in FIFA Under-17 World Cup against USA on Friday.

Though the Indian team faced defeat in the first tournament against USA, Odisha cheered for Babul, a Std-X student of IRC Village Boys’ High School in Bhubaneswar who received World Cup Ball from Modi as an honour ahead of the FIFA event yesterday.

Son of Lakhman Sandil and Gita Sandil was one among the 11 players selected for ‘Mission 11 Million’programme to have recognised for boosting the game of football among school children. His sports teacher Ashok Patra witnessed this memorable moment.

This young boy participated in the Mission 11 Programme, launched by the Centre to popularise and promote football in the country. The game was taken across the country to about 12,000 schools in 37 cities.
