Keonjhar: In a tragic incident, a school kid was killed and another was injured in a lightning strike at Jalsarpur village under Nandipada police limits in Anandpur Sub Division of Keonjhar district today.
The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Behera of Jalasarpur village, a class II student.
As per reports, Rajesh and his classmate Gangadhar were returning home after attending school when lightning struck them.
While Gangadhar had minor injuries, Rajesh was critical. Family members rushed Rajesh to the nearest hospital where he was declared dead by the attending doctors.
As news spread about the unfortunate incident, a pall of gloom descended over the area.
