School & Mass Education Minister Inaugurates Training Programme For OES Officers

Bhubaneswar: A 16-day capacity building training programme kick-started on Monday to assist the newly recruited Odisha Education Service (OES) officers in making the education system in the state more dynamic.

As many as 160 OES officers recruited under Department of School & Mass Education will receive the training in two groups.

Eighty officers are undergoing training in the first phase of this training program which has started at Madhusudan Das Regional Academy of Financial Management, Bhubaneswar and will continue till August 8. The programme is being conducted by Odisha School Education Program Authority.

The training programme was inaugurated by Sudam Marndi, Minister of School and Mass Education.

“I stand here as a politician and my officers attend this Programme in various roles. But the man who made us all was a teacher. Welcome to the system that is responsible for the sustainability of the society,” the Minister said.

The Minister wished the new recruits luck for their journey ahead and advised them to work dedicatedly for the development of the sector.

Welcoming the newly appointed officers Aswathy S, Secretary S&ME Department said that everyone’s cooperation is needed to take the state’s education system to the next level. She assured of the department’s support in case the officers fumble while making a sincere and genuine attempt.

Anupam Saha, Project Director of Odisha School Education Programme Authority shared the detailed schedule of the 16-day training programme in his welcome speech to the officers.

In the training camp, the participants will be trained in various topics necessary for their work and will be taken on field visits to the offices of District Education Officers and Block Education Officers.

 

The programme also includes an evaluation of the officers based on their willingness to participate in various tasks, trips to places of importance, trekking trips and a cultural program.

Yamini Sarangi, State Project Director of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya in her welcome speech told the young officers not to be demoralized by the challenges of the profession and to keep striving towards the ultimate goal of bettering the education system of the state.

The inaugural event was attended by many other senior officials along with the first batch of 40 male and 40 female education officers.
