Kamakshyanagar (Dhenkanal): A class-VI student of Kankadahada Upper Primary School in Dhenkanal district was seriously injured after he was allegedly punched on his chest by the lady teacher during the prayer class.
The injured student has been identified as Ganapati Mahanta.
Ganapati was initially rushed to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Kankadahada. However, he was shifted to the Sub Divisional Hospital, here as there was no marked improvement in his health condition.
On being contacted Kankadahada Block Education Officer (BEO) Sagar Tudu informed that an enquiry into the incident will be conducted and appropriate action will be taken if allegations are proven to be true.
