Mayurbhanj: In a brutal attack, unidentified miscreants killed warden of Sri Aurobindo Purnanga Vidyalaya and severely injured the school’s principal at Baisinga area in Mayurbhanj late at night.
The deceased warder has been identified as Sanyasi Das (50) while the injured has been identified as Kadambini Rout (60).
According to reports, Rout had requested Das to accompany her to a nearby medical facility to fetch medicines as she was feeling unwell. As they were traveling on a bike, they were ambushed by unidentified assailants barely 100 meters from the school premises. Das succumbed to his injuries on the spot, while Rout was found lying in a pool of blood.
Upon being informed, the school’s owner Dr Bijay Rout rushed the school principal to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
Baisinga and Balasore police have launched an investigation into the incident following a complaint lodged by Rout.
Meanwhile, police are investigating the motive behind the gruesome attack.
The brutal nature of the attack has sent shockwaves through the community.
