Schools In Malkangiri To Stay Closed Tomorrow Due To Heavy Rain Prediction

Bhubaneswar: In view of heavy rains predicted by the IMD, the Malkangiri district administration has announced the closure of all schools in the district on Friday. However, Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay has directed teachers to remain present in the schools.

The administration had earlier cancelled the leaves of all government employees until September 28. Through a notification, the Collector has warned that any deviation from these instructions will invite strict disciplinary action.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department’s prediction, a low-pressure area is likely to develop over the Bay of Bengal, which will intensify into a depression by September 26. It may lead to heavy rainfall, strong winds, and adverse weather conditions in the district over the next few days.

In view of this situation and to tackle any potential emergency, the District Collector has taken such precautions.
