Bhubaneswar: Schools in three more districts of Odisha reopened on Thursday after an extended summer vacation due to a severe heat wave prevailing in the state for over a month. Wednesday, schools in all districts reopened on Wednesday, barring in Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Bolangir. Schools in these three districts also resumed classes today.
As of now, schools in these districts are holding morning classes from 6.30 am to 10.00 am but will follow the normal schedule from June 26.
It has been decided that schools in Sundargarh, Sonepur, Nuapada, and Bargarh districts will resume classes on Friday. Initially, the classes will be held from 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM in these districts.
Although schools in other districts reopened on Wednesday, keeping in view the hot weather conditions in some districts, the Department of Mass Education had asked the Collectors of seven districts of western Odisha to decide on the date of reopening of schools in their respective areas.
