Scooterist Killed In Road Mishap On NH 16 In Balasore

Balasore: A scooterist was killed after being hit by a container truck on National Highway 16 near Jamujhadi under Simulia police limits in Balasore district  on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as one Shiv Prasad Jena, a resident of Talanagar village under Soro police station limits of Balasore district.

According to reports, Jena was en route to Simulia hospital with his young grandson on his scooter. While returning, the scooter was hit by a container truck near Jamujhadi, resulting in severe injuries to Jena. His grandson, fortunately, escaped unharmed. Locals rushed Jena to Simulia hospital. However, doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Simulia police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
