Seashore Chit Fund Scam: MP Rabindra Kumar Jena appears before CBI
**Bhubaneswar: ** Balasore MP Rabindra Jena was grilled for around seven hours by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday in connection with the Seashore chit fund scam.
Talking to media after the interrogation, Jena said, “The Company has taken some money from us and has returned some amount. The investigative team had some queries regarding these transactions. I have provided all information sought by CBI.”
Jena was earlier interrogated by the CBI in January last year over his alleged link with the Seashore Group. The Bureau had issued a notice to Jena on December 2 asking him to appear in person before it. Prior to this, the CBI had summoned him on November 26. He is the second BJD MP to be interrogated by the investigating agency in the chit fund scam.
CBI sources said Mr Jena headed the Supratik group of companies, which had availed term loan of about Rs.18 crore from the Seashore group in 2010.
