Bhubaneswar: In a significant crackdown on the illicit liquor trade, the Excise Department raided a house in Saliasahi, Bhubaneswar, and seized 200 litters of country liquor and equipment. One person was arrested in connection with the illicit brewing operation.
The house, which appeared normal from the outside, had a secret passage hidden behind a fancy grass-covered wall. The Excise Department officials were shocked to find the extensive setup for brewing country liquor inside.
The Excise Department has warned of strict action against those involved in the illegal liquor trade, especially with festivals like Diwali and Kali Puja approaching.
