Bhubaneswar: In preparation for the 76th Republic Day celebrations, Odisha has implemented comprehensive security measures across the state.
This was confirmed by Odisha’s Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Sanjay Kumar, who assured that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the event.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, ADG Kumar assured the public that this year’s Republic Day celebration would be marked by a vibrant display of patriotism, with a grand state-level parade featuring various law enforcement forces.
“A total of 48 to 49 police contingents, including the 120 Battalion Continental Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Special Security (SS) Battalion, Armed Police Reserve (APR), Odisha Special Armed Police (OSAP), and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), will participate in the parade,” he said.
As part of the security measures, Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) across the state have been put on high alert to facilitate the smooth arrival and movement of guests and dignitaries attending the celebrations.
In Cuttack, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will lead the Republic Day celebrations by hoisting the national flag, while Governor Kambhampati Hari Babu will unfurl the flag at the state-level function in Bhubaneswar on January 26.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with the security teams for a safe and successful Republic Day celebration.
