Bhubaneswar: Security checks at several entry points to Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha, have been beefed up ahead of the Independence Day celebrations on Tuesday. Barricades have been put up at all the entry points to the capital city including the Cuttack Road, Nandankanan Road, Puri Bypass Road, Nayapalli, and Khandagiri.
Commissionerate Police has initiated taken measures to ensure that vehicles moving towards the capital city are checked thoroughly, especially during the night hours.

Patrolling too has been intensified with regular blocking at 26 entry and exit points in the Smart City. According to reports, 60 teams comprising 400 constables and other senior officers of the Commissionerate Police are undertaking the special drive ahead of the Independence Day celebrations in Bhubaneswar.
Meanwhile, Twin City Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi on Sunday said, “Around 15 platoons of police force and 100 officers will be deployed for the Independence Day celebrations in Bhubaneswar. The security for the state-level Independence Day parade is of paramount importance and a three-tier security arrangement will be in place.”
