Balangir: In a significant breakthrough, Balangir police and District Voluntary Force (DVF) personnel uncovered a Maoist dump during a combing operation in the Chatradandi Reserve Forest under Tureikela police limits in Balangir district.
The security forces recovered a cache of items, including an air gun, several rounds of ammunition, uniforms, solar panels, mobile phone charging equipment, food supplies, rainwear, and materials for stitching bags.
“Acting on intelligence inputs, we launched a combing operation on Saturday under the leadership of the Tureikela Officer-in-Charge (OIC). Our information suggested that Maoists had concealed weapons and ammunition in the Chatradandi forest. A team led by the OIC, along with DVF personnel, conducted a search that resulted in the discovery of the dump,” Balangir SP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo informed reporters today.
The recovered items, including the solar plates and food supplies, indicate the preparedness of Maoists to operate in the area. SP Dnyandeo confirmed that combing operations in the region would continue to ensure enhanced security and dismantle any remaining Maoist infrastructure.
