He was accompanied by the Chief Secretary of the State of Odisha Asit Tripathy and other senior officials.
The 200-bedded COVID hospital in Baripada was inaugurated on April 15, whereas the hospital at Keonjhar will also have a capacity of 200 beds. The latter is in its final stages of construction. The COVID hospital of Balasore has the capacity of 120 beds including 10 ICU.
Secretary to CM 5T urged the district collectors for maintenance of peace and harmony during the lockdown period in addition to breaking the chain of highly infectious COVID-19. Reiterating Pandian, Tripathy lauded the district administrations in the set-up of the hospitals in such short span of time and also thanked private sponsors for their contributions.
Notably, Pandian always ensures to make field visits and see the implementation of the instructions given by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Yesterday he paid a visit to COVID hospitals in Sambalpur and Kalahandi districts. Earlier this month, he had visited Kendrapara, Jajpur and Bhadrak districts to oversee COVID-19 Hospital arrangements there.
It is worthwhile to mention that the Chief Minister has directed to set up Odisha COVID Hospitals in every district by next week with a plan to set up 36 hospitals with a combined bed capacity of 6000, as the State races ahead in its preparedness to provide top-notch treatment to people infected with the novel coronavirus.
