Malkangiri: Vigilance sleuths today apprehended a senior assistant working at the office of Block Education Officer ( BEO) in Mathili of Malkangiri for accepting bribe from a school teacher.
The vigilance team caught Rabi Shankar Patra red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a primary school teacher to process his enquiry file in connection with proceedings drawn against him.
The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from the possession of Patra, vigilance said.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of the accused from DA angle.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance registered a case U/s 7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018. The investigation is in progress against the accused Patra.
