**Bhubaneswar:** The former Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Aparajita Sarangi, who had gone on a central deputation in 2013, will return to the State in October. The senior IAS officer informed about it to the media persons on Thursday when she called upon Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi.
“I will be back in the State in October second week and work for Odisha,” said Aparajita.
As per an order of Centre issued in 2013, she was appointed as the prabhari of one of the eight backward districts of the state to monitor execution of developmental activities.
Aparajita Sarangi had undertaken a number of development measures during her tenure as Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, School and Mass Education Secretary and Higher Education Secretary in the State.
Popular for introducing tough measures, she undertook a number of stringent reforms during her tenure as Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation.
A no nonsense officer, Sarangi had introduced the uniform for the government school teachers as Secretary of Mass and Education Secretary. She seemed to be always in the news and not new to controversies during her tenure here.
