Bhubaneswar: In a significant development, the Odisha government appointed IPS officer YB Khurania as the state’s new Director General of Police (DGP).
Recently, the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet has given a nod to a proposal in this regard approving the premature repatriation of senior IPS officer YB Khurania to Odisha.
Recently serving as Special DG at the BSF Headquarters in New Delhi, the 1990 batch IPS officer Khurania will bring a wealth of experience to the top cop’s post. His previous stints include serving as Police Commissioner of the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and as Superintendent of Police (SP) of Nayagarh, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, and Ganjam districts in Odisha.
“The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for premature repatriation of YB Khurania, IPS, Special DG, BSF to his parent cadre with immediate effect,” read the notification issued in this regard earlier.
