Bhubaneswar: Twenty-two days after the gruesome murder of a nomad family in Karamdihi in Sundargarh, the police have arrested seven accused from Maharashtra and Karnataka. The special team of Sundargarh district police, led by SP Pratyush Diwakar, conducted raids at various places to track down the accused.

The incident occurred on October 29, when a rival nomadic group brutally murdered five members of a nomadic family and kidnapped five others near Karamdihi village. The police launched a massive manhunt to arrest the perpetrators and rescue the abducted.

DIG of Police (Western Range) Birjesh Kumar Rai and Sundargarh SP Pratyush Diwakar visited the spot and took stock of the situation. The police seized the bodies for autopsy and launched an investigation into the incident, which is believed to be a fallout of an illicit relationship.
