Balasore: Seven persons were arrested by the Balasore Town Police for allegedly taking bank loans against fake gold ornament from the Balasore Central Bank.
Acting on a written complaint lodged by Dinesh Kumar, the manager of the Balasore Central Bank in this connection, the Town Police started an investigation into the alleged fraud. It has been found that some bank officials were the mastermind behind the bank loan scam.
The seven arrested include Baniya Padmalochan Rana who contacted 14 customers to avail loans from the bank in exchange for fake gold. These customers took 69 loans worth Rs 68,507 by depositing fake gold ornament, Balasore City DSP Gayatri Pradhan informed.
