Balasore/Ganjam: Seven people were killed on the spot and two others were critically injured in two separate road accidents in Odisha’s Ganjam and Balasore districts on Thursday night.
According to reports, five people died and another was critically injured in a collision between two motorcycles near Keshari Patna under Surada police limits in Ganjam district. The critically injured has been admitted to a health center in Berhampur.
According to reports, six persons were riding two bikes coming from opposite directions. While one bike was going to Asurbandh from Sorada, the second bike was on its way to Sorada when the collision took place.
The deceased have been identified as Rajani, Srikant Gauda, Mahendra Naik, and Manu Dakua.
In the second incident, two persons were killed and another critically injured after their motorcycle rammed into the rear of a stationary truck near Udala under Kamarda police limits in Balasore district. The accident probably happened due to dense fog last night.
The deceased have been identified as Akash Bhakta of Baharda village and Biswa Bikash Parida of Vrindavanpur village in the district. The critically injured Sunil Behera was first admitted to Baliapal community health center and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The deceased as well as the injured worked in the state Electricity Department.
