Bhadrak: Properties worth several lakhs of rupees were gutted in a fire that engulfed 15 shops and two godowns in Padmanabha Das Complex under Basudevpur police limits in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Wednesday late night.
According to reports, the establishments that were gutted in the fire include stationery stores, eateries, and shoe and vegetable shops. In addition, two rice godowns were also reduced to ashes
On being informed, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot but by the time they arrived at the market complex, several shops had already been reduced to ashes.
One person has been detained in connection with the incident but no casualties were reported. The police and Fire Services department have launched a probe to find the cause of the fire.
