Bhubaneswar: A severe cold wave has gripped Odisha, with Jharsuguda recording the lowest temperature at 6.3°C, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Other places also experienced a significant drop in temperature, with Rourkela recording 7.1°C, Keonjhar 8.8°C, Hirakud 10.6°C, and Sambalpur 10.8°C.
The cold wave has brought biting chill to the state, with residents experiencing harsh winter conditions.
Meanwhile, a thick layer of fog has engulfed several parts of Odisha, with coastal and northern regions being the most affected. According to satellite data, visibility in these areas has dropped below 200 meters, causing disruptions in daily life. Some areas in southern Odisha are also experiencing similar conditions.
