Bhubaneswar: Even though rain has been pounding these days and heavy to very heavy rainfall has further been predicted till August 14 from today (August 12) in Odisha, the data released by the office of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) mentions that two districts are having severe deficit rainfall.
As per the SRC data, the two districts are Sundargarh and Deogarh having a shortfall of >39% up to 59%. While Sundargarh district has recorded -40.7% till date, Deogarh has recorded -42.7% severe deficit rainfall.
Even though the SRC data shows ‘nil’ district having scanty rainfall (shortfall of >59%), 10 districts are having deficit rainfall (rainfall of >19% up to 39%.
These 10 districts having deficit rainfall are Nuapada -20.9%, Dhenkanal -21.7%, Bhadrak -23.6%, Boudh -25.4%, Kendrapara -28.1%, Sambalpur -28.3%, Keonjhar –29.3%, Balasore -32.7%, Mayurbhanj -33.0% and Angul -34.0%.
