Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted hot weather and heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in some districts of Odisha during the next five days.
The IMD has issued ‘Orange’ alerts for some districts in the western part of the state warning of heat wave to severe heat wave conditions.
The weather agency has forecast that Maximum temperature (Day temperature) is likely to be above normal by 4-6°Celsius at one or two places over the districts during the next 4-5 days. Consequently, hot and discomfort weather is likely during the next 4-5 days.
Conditions are becoming favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon over some more parts of south Peninsular and East India and adjoining areas during 18th-21st June, the IMD said.
Here’s IMD’s weather forecast and warning for the districts for next five days:
Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 15.06.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Angul and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.
ORANGE WARNING(BE PREPARED) 1. HEAT WAVE TO SEVERE HEAT WAVE conditions is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the district of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir.
YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) 2. HEAT WAVE conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the district of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Boudh.
