Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police busted a sex racket at a salon and spa near Rabi Talkies chhak and rescued a woman on Saturday.
According to reports, the salon owner hired a woman for spa work but forced her into prostitution. The woman informed her family following which her brother came to her rescue. But, the owner attacked both of them.
The matter came to fore after locals heard the woman screaming and alerted the police.
“We had no idea about a sex racket being operated under the cover of a spa. We suspect the girl was forcibly kept and forced to work against her will,” said a local resident.
On receiving information, the Badagada police arrived at the scene and rescued the woman and her brother. Police took them to the hospital for medical examination.
During the raid, police found objectionable items in the salon. Police sealed the salon and launched an investigation.
