Sex Racket Busted In Kalahandi, 5 Women Rescued

Bhawanipatna: The Town Police today busted a sex racket running at Naktiguda area of Bhawanipatna town of Kalahandi district. They rescued five women and arrested three persons with prime accused absconding.

Briefing the media, Kalahandi district Superintendent of Police (SP) Battula Gangadhar said, “The prime accused- Palam is originally from Kerala but has settled here. He was running the hub from a rented place by bringing girls from Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Nabrangpur districts and even from neighbouring West Bengal.”

“Based on the information from a special squad, we conducted the raid and nabbed three people. However the prime accused managed to flee. We have detained the house owner. The rescued women, after medical examination, have been sent to destitute centre,” said Kalahandi SP.

SP Gangadhar added that racket was running in the raided building since last six months and whether it was active before that is yet to be ascertained. He also requested media and common public to come forward if they have information about any unsocial activities.
