Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police on Friday busted a sex racket which was running in a posh residential locality on city outskirts.
The police rescued two women and arrested two persons including the kingpin of the racket, an Uttar Pradesh based women.
According to sources, a team of Balianta police conducted a raid on a house in Metro Satelite City and nabbed two persons who were spotted in compromising positions with the women.
While one of them managed to escape, the cops caught hold of the another who was identified as Subhasis Mishra (26) of Old Town area in Nayagarh town.
The kindpin of the racket, Radha Padhy (35) is a native of Salimpur in Debria district of Uttar Pradesh.
Both Mishra and Padhy have been booked under Sections 3,4,5,6 and 7 of the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act. They will be produced in a local court on Saturday.
The two women, who were engaged by Padhy at the brothel belong to Nayagarh and Deogarh districts. They have been shifted to a short-stay home here, the police said.
